Lakespride is a small village of about 200 people. It is named for the beautiful church that sits on the waters of Lake Encarthan. The structure rests on a small island, not much larger than the church itself, about fifty yards off-shore. A well constructed ten foot wide stone bridge leads to the church.
The Temple of Calm Waters was originally constructed for Aroden, but was rededicated to Iomedae around the time of Barrett’s defeat of the Ghoul King. The village serves as a dock for the druid-city of Crystalhurst, deep in the Fangwood Forest.
Only about half of the village residents live in the town itself, mostly craftsmen and service professions. The remaining villagers farm the surrounding countryside to provide food for themselves and to be sold to the townsfolk. Merchant caravans deliver regularly, with a wagon or three coming once a month. When goblins moved into the area two years ago, they attempted raids on these caravans, but the old paladin Sir Barrett drove them off. Eventually, Sir Barrett took to meeting the caravans at the borders and riding with them to Lakespride. The goblins soon gave up harassing the travelers.
